Why it’s fast

Speed on WordPress comes down to how much work the server does before it hands over a page.

Most sites do all of it, every single time. PHP runs, the database gets queried dozens of times over, then a page finally appears.

We cache at three levels so most of that work never happens.

Google measures this. So does everyone waiting on your homepage.

Security that isn’t a plugin

Every site on the server runs under its own user with its own files. If one is ever compromised, it can’t reach the others.

The firewall blocks everything except web traffic and our own access. Root logins are disabled. Failed login attempts get blocked automatically. Server software is patched as soon as fixes are released.

Cloudflare sits in front of all of it, filtering out the traffic that never should have arrived.

None of this makes a site unhackable. It does mean the common routes in are closed, and it means we find out quickly if something changes.

Backups you can actually restore

A backup is only worth having if someone can put it back.

Yours are taken [daily], held for [30] days and stored with a completely separate provider from the server your site runs on.

We can restore one file, the database or the entire site. Ask for a restore and we will do it the [same working day].

If you ever want to leave, we’ll hand over a full export of your files and database and help your new host get it running. We’d rather you stayed because it works.

Your whole site is rebuilt on our server while the live one carries on as normal.

We test it properly and send you a private link. Nothing moves until you are happy.

Questions people actually ask

Can I keep my domain where it is?

Yes. You don’t have to move your domain to us. We’ll either point the existing records at your site or take over the DNS if you’d rather we managed it.

Do you host email?

No, and neither should your web host. Email belongs with a provider built for it, so we’ll point your records at wherever your mail already lives. If you’re still running email off a web host, we’ll help you move it somewhere sensible.

What happens if my site gets hacked?

We take it offline, restore the most recent clean backup, find how they got in and close it. [Confirm whether clean-up is included or charged.]

Can I get SFTP or admin access?

Yes, for your own site. Access is isolated to your site only, so you can’t reach anything else on the server and nothing else can reach you.

Do I have to have you build my site?

No. We host plenty of sites we didn’t build. We’ll check the site over before we take it on and tell you honestly if we spot anything that needs sorting first.

What if my traffic spikes?

Nothing happens to your bill. You’re not priced by visitor. If a site genuinely outgrows the server it’s on, we’ll move it to a bigger one and talk to you about the cost first.

Is there a contract?
